About Us

What Is TCC?

The Triumph of the Cross (TCC) is a community of Catholic, Protestant, Pentecostal, and non-denominational Christians seeking to live completely for Jesus Christ, to bring others into a full life in Christ, and to be a faithful witness to the unity of the body of Christ.

The Triumph of the Cross Community (TCC) was started in 1999 when a group of charismatic Christians from different church backgrounds committed themselves together to live for Jesus Christ and to encourage and help each other live out that commitment.

TCC is an outgrowth of both the charismatic renewal and the ecumenical movement. As part of the charismatic renewal, we have experienced the power of the Holy Spirit in a way that is similar to the early Christians as seen in the book of Acts of the Apostles and in Paul’s letters (see Acts 2 and I Corinthians 12 and 14).

Our community seeks to worship the Lord with our hearts, minds, and voices and practice the charismatic gifts as Paul taught the early Christians.

History Of TCC

TCC Today

As part of the ecumenical movement, TCC seeks to witness to God’s heart for unity among Christians. If God the Father’s heart breaks over his children’s division, then so should ours as well. We want to love one another and support each other as disciples, even while we participate actively in the life of our various churches. By sharing our lives and serving the Lord together, we seek to live out Jesus’ prayer to his Father “that all of them may be one, as you, Father, are in me, and I am in you. May they also be in us, so that the world may believe that you sent me” (John 17:21).

We are a small Christian community of about 60 members who love one another deeply from the heart and who welcome whomever the Lord would call to journey with us.

FAQs

Are you a church?

No, TCC is not a church, but it is a “renewal movement” that seeks to help Christians live as mature disciples of the Lord and as good members of their local congregations and parishes. Since we are not a church, we don’t “marry, baptize, or bury” people. But we provide a strong environment to love one another well, to encourage each other to live wholeheartedly for the Lord, and to seek the face of the Lord in both personal and community settings.

What does ecumenical mean?

As an “ecumenical” community, we respect the various church traditions and teachings of all of our members. All of our members commit themselves to actively participate in the life of their church, and all TCC members hold to the truths as stated in the Apostles or Nicene Creeds, truths which Christians have upheld for centuries.

Do you have worship services?

We refer to our worship services as “prayer meetings”. These meetings differ from a traditional church worship service as we do not have preaching from an ordained pastor. However, we do share in worship together by singing a variety of hymns, followed by a talk from one of our members. By having our prayer meetings in this format, we are able to worship the Lord as an ecumenical community that is not often found in a traditional church setting.
